Narcissist Exposer #24

Blog of a Mad Black Woman

It’s a routine for them. They come into your life like everything you need in a relationship. They end up turning your life upside down like a natural disaster. They are experts at the damage they cause. They think you’re not supposed to recover. Prove them wrong. Don’t let them have that kind of power over your happiness.

Leafy the Pet Leaf

Cute story

Maximus Octavian

20170911_121648 (607x640)

Today, join Finnegan, Floss, Peanut and Sprat for Bring in a Pet Day!

Finnegan has brought his puppy, Licky Dog. Floss has her cat, Podge. Peanut has her pet mouse, Pocket.

But what about Sprat, the littlest Adventurer of all?

He’s brought… LEAFY! And Sprat thinks Leafy is the best pet leaf in the whole wide world.

But… can a leaf really be a pet?

My review:

This is a great book about one child’s imagination, when he couldn’t find his pet cat. It explores different things a leaf could be, thus saving the day, making it fun. Cute story.

Signs of the Apocalypse?

Lynn Dove's Journey Thoughts

Mexico was struck with a massive 8.1 earthquake this morning. As I read the report, I also read the comments that readers were posting about it and the other meteorological events around the world. It is obvious that many believe that we are witnessing sure signs of the Apocalypse, and the return of Christ in the very near future. Some believe the hurricanes, and fires burning out of control in Canada, and all the other natural disasters this past yearare due to climate change. Even a Hollywood actress, Jennifer Lawrence said that the hurricanes are Mother Nature’s”wrath” for Trump’s presidential victory. Wow. I know President Trump gets blamed for just about everything nowadays but this borders on the absurd.

I honestly do not understand what is going on in our world today. I’m sure many of you feel as I do. It’s like the world is spinning off-kilter on…

Preparation: A Lesson from Hurricane Irma

Truth spoken

I don’t know about you, but it seems like the level of devastation and destruction is at an all time high here recently. Between Harvey and Irma, mother nature has been giving us a run for our money.

And I just want to say, my heart and prayers go out to all those who have been impacted by these horrific natural disasters. My heart breaks for those who are left to pick up the pieces.

Hurricanes are something else. It’s like, you get two – maybe three days – of a “heads up” to plan for the end of the world.

Living in NYC during Hurricane Sandy back in 2012, I remember the chaos in the days leading up to the storm.

And scanning social media today of all the photos of empty grocery shelves and Walmart looking straight out of the Zombie apocalypse, I was brought back to that…

September 7 – Rich

Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. (2 Corinthians 9:11)

Read: Song of Solomon 5:1-8:14, 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, Psalm 51:1-19, Proverbs 22:24-25

Relate: What does it mean to be rich? What careers or life directions can lead someone to becoming wealthy? When I think of jobs that will make a person rich, being a social social worker does not come anywhere close to the top of my list. I have known quite a few social workers in my day and words like “overworked”, “underpaid”, “unappreciated”, and “just-scraping-by” seem to be much more appropriate to describe them than “rich” or “wealthy”. Don’t tell that to Julia Wise. She and her husband, who happens to have a slightly more lucrative of a job, combine their incomes and then live on…
