If I Could Turn Back Time

If I could turn back time it would be when I was a child.

Maybe everybody wishes the same, maybe not.

It is not that I don’t want responsibilities, it’s that I miss my family.

I miss the fun stuff that we did when we were all together.

I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and back then the toys, movies, and shows were the best.

Miss seeing both of my grandmothers. Miss spending time with them every summer. Eating ice cream, cereal, and cookies at night.

Learning to play the piano. Swimming at the lake.

Miss playing with my brother. Miss the magic of Christmas.

Miss how much I loved being at church. Miss seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

Miss my pets. Miss building homes out of books with my brother for the grasshoppers.

Miss our bike rides as a family. Miss our picnics by the big oak tree, and counting rabbits.

Most of all, I miss my family being together.

About jazzyjenness

I'm the mother of three girls, a Grammy to two little girls, a girlfriend and we have a cat with many nick names, depending on his mood and activity, or lack thereof. I've been writing since I was about 8 or 9, and it is something that I love to do. When we read books, we do it for entertainment, escape, and education; the three E's. These are also the reasons why I write, to entertain, educate and escape. My desire is not just to do what I love, but I want to give hope and inspiration to others through my stories. Currently, I am working on obtaining my Master's degree in Creative Writing and hope to also become an instructor at my school one day and teach Fiction Workshop.

I would also go back to my childhood years, everything is just too simple and you have more time with your family, everything is just different when you were a kid.

  2. I also miss being a child, I try to remember what I thought back then to keep me young at heart. Thanks for the wonderful post.
